When NASA first started sending humans to space, scientists didn't know if it was even possible to digest food in a zero-G environment. Thankfully, it is! The Cosmosphere's curator Shannon Whetzel explains how early astronauts ate in space.

The Surveyor program was a series of unmanned spacecraft sent to the Moon to study the lunar surface ahead of Apollo's manned missions. The Cosmosphere has a Surveyor replica on display, as well as the actual Surveyor 3 scoop retrieved by Apollo 12 astronauts.

Surveyor III was an uncrewed Lunar Lander which touched down on the Moon before the crewed Apollo missions. The astronauts of Apollo 12 landed near Surveyor and retrieved several parts from it, including this scoop which is on display in the Cosmosphere's Hall of Space Museum.
