Many viewed the Apollo 11 Moon landing as the culmination of the Cold War.

The race to the Moon was over and America had won. But beating the Soviets was not the only goal of landing on the Moon; between 1969 and 1972, America would land on the Moon a total of six times. Each mission would explore farther, collect more samples, and stay longer on the Moon than the mission before it.
